Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Site Deployment Lead. A successful candidate will have experience implementing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and have experience with Cerner software and/or the legacy VA system, VistA. They will have assisted the delivery of complex Information Technology related projects, be well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies, and have experience in communicating with a diverse set of stakeholders in a healthcare setting.
The position will facilitate the assessment, alignment, and optimization of clinical/functional areas to meet deployment requirements. It will act as the on-site lead working directly with local VA medical center leads (Service Lines, VHA, VISN, BioMed, and others). Partners / liaise with both VA staff and Cerner team to support project success by aligning clinical, technical, and executive stakeholders across the organization in support of the project.

Key Technical Skills:
Healthcare, EHR Go-live planning, Risk mitigation, Cerner Millennium, Strong communicator (e.g. Service Lines, BioMed, Facilities Management, BioMed, Clinicians), Project Management, previous clinical experience (nursing preferred)
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare IT, computer science, electronics engineering, engineering or technical related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required. An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements
- EMR deployment experience, Health IT experience, MS Project, MS Office Suite
- Experience with management of IT development and implementation projects
- Ability to work independently to design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare/ clinical environment
- Acts as the highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics, and multiple platforms. Responsible for project completion
- Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
Experience Preferred:
- Experience working within the federal government (DoD or VA)
- Experience in current VA, DoD and/or Cerner clinical technology solutions preferred
- Experience with Cerner Millennium and related application packages as well as the associated challenges and risks related/encountered in their deployment preferred
- Understanding of the engineering and technical concerns related to biomedical and medical devices
- Previous experience working in a clinical role
